Umul Qura Learning Centre is a trusted Islamic educational and community hub located in the heart of Kitchener, Ontario. Our centre was established to serve children, youth, women, men, and families with a commitment to nurturing faith, knowledge, and character in a safe and inclusive space.
What began as a grassroots initiative has now grown into a vibrant learning centre where education and spiritual growth go hand in hand. We offer a range of programs designed to empower individuals, strengthen families, and build strong community bonds rooted in Islamic values.

Our Program & Services
Qur’aan Recitation & Tajweed Classes
Students of all levels learn to read and recite the Holy Qur’aan with proper pronunciation (Tajweed). Lessons are delivered with care and patience to help each learner build fluency, confidence, and love for the Qur’aan.
Islamic Studies
We offer comprehensive, age-appropriate classes in: • Aqeedah (Belief) • Fiqh (Islamic rulings) • Akhlaq (Manners and character) • Seerah (Life of the Prophet ﷺ) • Du‘a memorization, practical daily Islam, and more.
Tahfiz / Hifz Program
Our Tahfiz (Qur’aan memorization) classes support students who are committed to memorizing the Qur’aan. With structured plans, review sessions, and moral encouragement, students progress steadily and spiritually.
Weekend Qur’aan School
Perfect for school-going children, this weekend program focuses on: • Qur’aan reading and memorization • Islamic manners and values • Basic Arabic vocabulary • Fun Islamic activities
Ramadhan Programs
During Ramadhan, Umul Qura becomes a vibrant center of worship and reflection. We host: • Taraweeh prayers • Community Iftaar • Qur’aan Khatms • Youth & family activities • Men’s and women’s halaqahs • Inspirational talks and du‘a sessions
Youth Nights
A safe, engaging space for teens and university students to: • Build identity and self-confidence • Discuss relevant topics from an Islamic lens • Socialize through games, snacks, and shared learning.
Qiyam Nights
Held during special times of the year, especially in Ramadhan, these overnight spiritual gatherings include: • Tahajjud prayer • Reflection circles • Islamic talks • Brotherhood and sisterhood activities • Group suhoor
Circles for Men and Women
We offer separate halaqahs and discussion circles for both men and women to support their spiritual, emotional, and social needs. These include: • Tafseer and Hadith study • Discussions on marriage, parenting, work-life balance, and personal growth • Mental health and wellness workshops • Community support groups
